FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK:

All of us at Main Street United Methodist Church need to say “Thank You” to everyone who helped us get ready for Christmas! There are so many people who come in the church doors, do their jobs, and quietly slip away. Please take the time to thank them for all their work!

• Dean and Susan Shuttleworth and their family: for setting up
and decorating our Chrismon tree in Asbury Hall.

• Missions Committee: for working with Epworth Children’s Home
and our church members to ensure that Epworth’s children
will have a wonderful Christmas.

• All those who participated in the Christmas Caroling Event:
including those who brought food and drinks for the party.

• All those who donated the beautiful poinsettias to adorn our
altar during the Christmas season.

• All the children and their leaders: for planning such a delightful Christmas Pageant
during the morning worship service on December 17.

• The Junior Handbell Choir: for playing beautiful music for us
during the morning worship service on December 17.

• The Charles Wesley Choir, Sarah Allen Handbell Choir, Guest Vocalists and Instrumentalists: for practicing an endless number of hours to prepare for the beautiful Christmas Cantata entitled “Jesus Child” at the Lessons and Carols Service.

• Christmas Reception Committee:
for providing us with delicious refreshments after the Christmas Cantata.

• Methodist Men:
for coordinating with local companies and individuals to gather supplies for 50+ Christmas baskets.

Thanks so much to all of you! Henry

And thanks also—from the congregation—to
Henry, Lori, Jacob, and Emma
for being such gracious hosts at their Open House on Saturday, December 16. It was lots of fun!
