Music Notes from Robin

July is here with typical South Carolina weather. Stay cool and be thankful for air conditioning. The Choirs are enjoying a break from Wednesday rehearsals until September, but the five Sundays in July will have some beautiful musical selections featuring instrumental and vocal solos, as well as choral pieces.

Sunday, July 1, will be a patriotic Sunday with an emphasis on America. The anthem for this Sunday is entitled “If My People”. The text is “If my people who are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” This poignant text and haunting melody are a true message of hope.

Enjoy vacations and a break from studies and rehearsals…and be ready to start fresh in late August and September.
