Musical Notes – September 2017

September of 2017 has arrived, and the final third of the year has begun. The 2017-2018 school year has started, and the first day of Autumn is Friday, September 22. High school and college football seasons are in full swing, and exciting events at Main Street United Methodist Church will be upon us. World-wide Communion Sunday, All Saints’ Day, Thanksgiving, Advent, and Christmas will bring this year to a close.

I am excited to begin new music with the choirs. Please watch your bulletins, the mail, and newsletters for details. The Junior Handbell Choir will be meeting on Wednesdays from 5:00-5:30 p.m. in Asbury Hall beginning on September 6. The Sarah Allen Handbell Choir will be rehearsing from 6:30-7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, and The Charles Wesley Choir will be rehearsing from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. However, The Sarah Allen Handbell Choir and The Charles Wesley Choir will not resume Wednesday rehearsals until October 4. Members of these two choirs will be contacted individually about rehearsals in September.

As always, I love making music at Main Street. Let’s make the final four months of 2017 memorable in our worship.
