Musical Notes – January 2016

Music Notes from Robin:

2016!  The beginning of what I hope will be a wonderful year.  This new year promises to be an important year in the life of Main Street United Methodist Church, as the church celebrates its 100th (Centennial) Anniversary in May.  I love the ornaments, the commemorative plates, and the note cards that have been available as part of this celebration.  Please make plans to be a part of this big event, and help to get the word to families and friends who no longer live in Dillon.

I want to thank all the musicians for their hard work and dedication in providing such beautiful music during the Advent and Christmas seasons.  I could not be more pleased and proud.

Rehearsals will resume on Wednesday, January 13 for the Junior Handbell Choir, The Sarah Allen Handbell Choir, and The Charles Wesley Choir.  I have some brand new pieces that I am anxious to begin rehearsing.

As always, thank you for the opportunity to serve our church.  On a personal note, June 2016 will be my 25th (Silver) Anniversary as Director of Music and Organist at Main Street.  I can hardly believe that this much time has passed, but it has been a great 25 years for me.  I am truly looking forward to the future.

Happy New Year!

Robin
