Music Notes – June 2015

Music Notes:

June has arrived, and summer vacation is here. The Charles Wesley Choir, The Sarah Allen Handbell Choir, and The Junior Handbell Choir are all taking a break from Wednesday rehearsals until September. Enjoy a well deserved and truly earned respite!

June is going to be a busy month for me. I will be serving as one of Main Street’s Lay Delegates at the S. C. United Methodist Annual Conference June 7-11. I will also be attending the Musical and Liturgical Arts Conference at Lake Junaluska and singing with The Chamber Choir June 21-26.

At the Morning Worship Service on Sunday, June 11, I will be presenting the conclusion of the history of the Music Ministry here at Main Street (1991-to the present) during the Centennial Moment. That afternoon, members of The Charles Wesley Choir and I will be assisting in the music at the Farewell Service for our retiring District Superintendent Reverend Dickie Knight. This service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church in Marion.

Enjoy these next few months, and please be a presence and part of our services when you are in town. The Main Street Family is not complete without each member!

Godspeed!

Robin
